A Place To Call Home

So much has happened since I last posted. I've been meaning to sit down and write but with all that's been happening, finding time has been tricky.
Andy and I have had a rough few weeks in regards to the housing situation. When I last wrote, I'd found a little one bedroom house near where we're currently living (we're living with Andy's mum and stepdad, in separate rooms). However, that fell through quite quickly due to the landlord pulling out, even after we'd put the deposit down on it. This was really hard to deal with because it put us back on the hunt for somewhere. We really wanted to get somewhere sorted out as soon as we can. However, within a few days of loosing the house in Maidenbower, Andy and I had the opportunity of being able to view two different apartments together (since we both had the same days off that week). After talking and praying about it we made our decision to go with the second one, due to its price, location and size. Location wise, its right in Crawley and only a few minutes walk from my job (I'm still at McDonald's and I'm loving it). The location means that Andy will save at least 30 minutes on his daily commute to and from Travelodge Gatwick, where he works.
The apartment is a two bedroom flat about one of the shops on the high street. Its got a spacious master bedroom, and lounge, as well as a smaller second bedroom that'll be Andy's man cave. It has nice bathroom (with a bath!) and a small but functional kitchen. We've been having a lot of fun talking about the furnishings and what we're going to do, as the place is completely unfurnished. We're gonna have to furnish the entire flat ourselves (including white goods, like washing machine, fridge freezer, a stove and an oven) but since we've got a few things already, and people have generously offered to give us used items, we aren't starting off with absolutely nothing. We're really excited for this next adventure. I'll move in first, once we get the keys, and once we're married (in 5 weeks and 2 days), Andy will move in with me (well, once we get back from our honeymoon).
We're currently in the process of dealing with the paperwork and are waiting to hear back from the estate agent who has been in communication with us and a reference company. The reference company has been going through our credit history, our work history, as well our housing addresses. This is because the agent wants to make sure we can pay the rent monthly. Its been quite an ordeal, I can tell you, as we had to find a second guarantor (Andy and I don't earn enough to rent without one). So we're waiting to hear back about whether the second guarantor has been cleared. We're hopeful that he will, and hopeful that we'll get an answer about the apartment over the next few days. I'll definitely post about that once we know.
