Curiosity

"I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious." Albert Einstein.
One of the Cavalry; Mounted Guards who Protect Her Majesty The Queen

I'm already a very curious person. I love asking questions about everything, but I also love looking and learning. Sometimes you learn more about people and situations just by watching them, and gleaning information from what I see and hear. Maybe this is why I love going to museums, as museums are a place where I can learn. It stimulates me in a way that nothing else can. I'm a multi-sensory learner. I need to see, hear, feel, and write to learn what I need to. So museums are the perfect place for me, and thanks to the love that my parents have imparted to me, I love history and there are a few places that hold so many different types of museums and places for me to learn. One of these places is London. Yesterday, I got home from London, after having spent a few days away. Andy was working and didn't come with me. It gave me a few days to just explore London, like I did in the old days. I went into several different museums and I got to see a few friends of mine, who I've known for many years.

Heather and Me

One of the people I was fortunate enough to meet was a lovely lady by the name of Heather. Heather's parents knew my parents when they lived in Uganda, before I was born. She lives in the States with her husband and their children. My parents took my siblings and myself to the U.S. when I was eight for a conference they were planning to go, and we stayed with Heather's parents. Heather was married and I remember her first child, a daughter. She came to England with a group of high school girls, on an arts trip. We were able to briefly catch up on life. Heather is a lady who is full of love and life. She's an incredible artist (something she's learned from her mum). It'll take a long time for Heather and me to ever catch up on everything that has happened in both our lives since we last met, but this was a lovely first meeting, albeit brief. I think we're likely end up meeting up again in the future, though I don't know when that'll be. We'll stay in touch and follow each other's lives on Facebook and Instagram (as well what gets written on our blogs).

London City (Sadly I forgot to take a picture of Bethan and myself together)

The other good friend of mine who I was fortunate enough to meet up with was Bethan. We had a very similar up-bringing. We were both missionary kids, but we grew up in two different continents, in two every different countries. Since we first started writing back in 2009, we've been fortunate enough to met up a couple times, however life took us down different roads. It was great being able to catch up with Bethan over a drink and talk about where life has taken us. How things have gone, who we've become, and how our pasts have defined us, to some degree. It was amazing! I hope we get to meet up again in the future.

Hope to write again soon!
