The secret to living well and longer is: eat half, walk double, laugh triple and love without measure. -Tibetan Proverb.

Over the last few weeks I've spent most of my shifts doing the overnight. Part of me enjoys them, as it gives me the chance to zone out and focus on the task at hand, with either a podcast or some music playing in my ears. The pub is quiet, there aren't any customers around just the staff. It means that we can crack on and get the job done. I may, or may not. have mentioned in previous posts, that we've started closing at 1 o'clock in the morning, until 5 a.m. So this is why I've been able to listen to music on Spotify whilst I work, though it is down to the manager's discretion. Most of the management don't mind me listening to music if I'm working whilst doing so, and that I get my jobs done before the end of my shift. The music really helps me focus. Though there has been a change in the area of night shifts. I've asked to be put back on to more "normal" shifts. Normal shifts entail working more regular hours, not overnight, as I want to spend time with Andy. We've not seen an awful lot of each other over the last few weeks as I've had to sleep during the day, when he's been awake, and I've often already left for work by the time he gets home. So it looks like I'll be going back onto day shifts after the New Year.
Andy and I are both currently off work and are really enjoying being able to spend time together, which is something we haven't been able to do an awful lot of, due to my work. We saw his family on 21st December, and we're going to my extended family for Christmas (we're going to be catching the train there tomorrow). I haven't spent Christmas with my mum's side of the family in over ten years, due to various circumstances I was always traveling or unable to join them. However this year is different. I'm looking forwards to it. Though because I have Christmas off, I'll be working over New Year's. Though I'm glad that I'm able to spend time with Andy, and my family.
On that note, I've gotta sign off. I have a few errands to run before I head home. I'll try to write as soon as I can!
