Life Is Busy

Forever is composed nows. -Emily Dickinson

Life has been so busy over the last few weeks, with work and the uncertainty of the coming move. Andy's job will mean that we'll need to based closer to his work. You probably are wondering why on earth I haven't mentioned this before. It's simple. We don't know when exactly we'll get the date for the move. So we're hanging in limbo. I don't mind. I used to find uncertainly really scary but over the last few years, I've found peace in the unknown. The future is never set in stone and the only one who knows anything about the future is God. It's my decision to trust Him to bring everything into place at the right time and that He will work everything out for good. I've spent the last year working with the elderly, but when I'm travelling around by public transport, I've seen parents with their children. These children are completely dependant on their parents for all their needs and they don't question where their next meal is coming from or how they'll get to and from school. It's always a strong reminder that this is how much we should depend on God. The uncertainty of the dawn is something that no longer scares me. I know that no matter what happens next God is in control. All that matters is that I have Andy, my family and my relationship with God.

My work has kept me really busy. The care home isn't completely full, and we still have several empty rooms, but there aren't as many of these empty rooms as there were back when I first started working at Wray Common. This means that we're all busier with the residents' personal care in the mornings. We've also been chronically short-staffed. This has meant that having agency staff in has become a daily affair. Some of them are good but some are not, as the care home couldn't choose who comes, it's the agency companies that send their staff at the care home's request.

Until next time.
